People often ask how I went from fishing on weekends to doing this full time. The honest answer: slowly, and with a lot of trial and error.
Where It Started
I picked up fishing the way a lot of people do — tagging along, catching more snags than fish, and getting hooked on the few moments that actually worked. It wasn't talent that kept me going back; it was stubbornness.
The Turning Point
The shift happened when I stopped treating fishing as something I did around work, and started treating the water time itself as the priority. That meant fewer weekends off, more early mornings, and a lot of trips that produced nothing worth posting about.
"Nobody sees the hundred blank sessions that come before the one good photo."
What I'd Tell Someone Starting Out
Log your trips, even the bad ones — patterns show up over time that you won't notice in the moment
Fish the same water repeatedly before chasing new spots — depth of knowledge beats breadth
Don't compare your season two to someone else's season ten
This site, and everything on it, is really just a record of that process— still going, still learning something new most trips out.
